Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 4, 2026
Custom Accounting CPA ("Custom Accounting," "we," "our," or "us") is a corporation formed in New York that provides tax planning, tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services. We take the confidentiality of your information seriously, and this Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.
This Policy covers information collected through our website at https://customaccountingcpa.com (the "Website"), through the forms and scheduling tools we use, and in the course of providing our services. By using the Website, submitting a form, scheduling a consultation, giving us your phone number, or engaging our services, you agree to this Policy.
Professional confidentiality. Information you give us as part of a professional engagement is also protected by the confidentiality obligations that apply to certified public accountants, including the restrictions on the use and disclosure of tax return information under Internal Revenue Code Section 7216. This Policy describes our general practices. It does not reduce those obligations, and where they are stricter, they control.

Cookies and Analytics
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary for the site to function. Others help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for website analytics. These set cookies and collect the automatic information described above. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on Google provides at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the Website may not work correctly if you block cookies that are strictly necessary.
Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, and we do not currently respond to it. You can still use the cookie controls in your browser and the Google Analytics opt-out above.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share information only where it is necessary, and only with the following categories of recipients:
Service providers
We use vendors to operate the firm. They receive only the information needed to perform their function, are bound by contract to protect it, and may not use it for their own purposes. These include providers of:
- Secure client portals and document exchange
- Practice management and workflow systems
- Customer relationship management, forms, and scheduling
- Email, calendar, and productivity software
- Telephone and text messaging services
- Electronic signature
- Payment processing
- Cloud hosting, backup, and IT support
- Website analytics
Where you direct us, or where the law requires it
We share information with third parties you ask us to share it with — for example, a lender, attorney, or another accountant — and with tax authorities and other agencies where a filing or a legal obligation requires it. We may also disclose information where necessary to comply with a subpoena or court order, to respond to a lawful request from a government authority, or to establish or defend our legal rights.
SMS Communications
Program Description
Custom Accounting CPA sends SMS text messages regarding appointment scheduling and reminders, tax filing deadlines, document requests, secure client portal notifications, billing and payment notifications, and responses to your inquiries. This is a conversational and service-notification program. It is not a marketing program.
Types of Messages
If you opt in, you consent to receive text messages regarding:
- Appointment scheduling and appointment reminders
- Tax filing deadlines
- Document requests
- Secure client portal notifications
- Billing and payment notifications
- Responses to your inquiries and customer support
- Other service-related communications
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority where you live, to consent to receive text messages from us.
How Consent Is Obtained
We send text messages only to mobile numbers for which we have express written consent. You can give consent by:
- Checking the text message consent box on our website contact, consultation, referral, or intake forms. The box is never pre-checked, and you can submit the form without checking it.
- Giving us your mobile number and marking your consent in a signed engagement agreement or onboarding document.
- Texting our business number, which we treat as your consent for us to reply by text.
Consent to receive text messages is never bundled with acceptance of any other agreement.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply.
Opt-Out
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. We will send one confirmation and no further text messages to that number unless you opt in again. To resubscribe, reply START or contact us. Opting out of text messages does not affect email or telephone contact about your account, and it does not end any engagement agreement.
Help
Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at +1 646-661-2010 or support@customaccountingcpa.com.
Carrier Liability
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Consent
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase or of engaging our services.
Non-Sharing of Opt-In Data
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.
Marketing Messages
We do not send promotional or marketing text messages unless you separately consent to receive them.
Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include access controls, encryption in transit, and a secure client portal for exchanging tax and financial documents.
Please send sensitive documents through the client portal rather than by ordinary email or text message. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and administer your engagement, and after that for as long as required by law, by professional recordkeeping standards applicable to certified public accountants, and to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Records associated with a tax filing are generally retained substantially longer than the engagement itself.
Records of your text message consent and opt-out are kept for as long as we are required to be able to demonstrate that consent.
Your Rights and Choices
Text messages. If you receive a text message from us, you can stop it at any time by replying STOP. This applies to everyone, regardless of where you live, and does not depend on any state privacy law.
You can also unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any newsletter email, and adjust cookies through your browser as described above.
State privacy rights
Depending on where you reside, state law may give you additional rights over your personal information, which can include the right to confirm whether we process it, to access it, to receive a portable copy, to correct it, to request deletion, to opt out of sale or of targeted advertising and certain profiling, and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details at the end of this Policy. We will need to verify your identity before acting, and may ask for information for that purpose. You may use an authorized agent, in which case we will ask the agent to demonstrate their authority. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows, and will tell you in writing if we need longer. If we deny a request, we will explain why, and you may appeal by contacting us at the same address.
Rights under state privacy law do not replace the confidentiality obligations we owe you as a CPA firm, and requests to delete information may be limited where we are required to retain it.
Children's Privacy
The Website and our services are intended for adults and business owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a child we know to be under 18 sends us personal information, we will use it only to tell them that they cannot use the Website. Our text message program is available only to individuals 18 or older, or the age of majority where they live.
Third-Party Websites
The Website links to sites we do not operate, including our client portal, scheduling tools, and social media profiles. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Please read their policies before providing information to them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top and post the updated version on this page. If we make a material change to how we use your information, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
